The Clarksville branch had the pleasure of hosting approximately 40 Pre-K students and seven teachers from Clarksville Elementary School as part of their community helper field trip. The children enjoyed a story time session, received a tour of the branch, and had a fun visit with our friend SaveMore. Each student also left with some goodies to take home. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community and introduce the kids to the basics of banking in a fun and memorable way.

Tanya Currin (Chase City), Anna Rutledge (Treasury Services), and Rhonda Wilson (Chase City), participated in the YMCA Healthy Kids Day event in Chase City. Each child was given a passport card and had to complete an activity at each vendor station in order to get a sticker for their card. Once complete, they were eligible for a new bicycle drawing at the end of the event. For the bank activity, each child completed a worksheet counting coin. They did a great job! Rhonda noted, "We really enjoyed participating and also gave out information on YES Club and Smart Start. It was a very nice, well organized event and we are already looking forward to next year!"

Eboni Lee (Admin) was selected by the Virginia Bankers Association (VBA) as one of its five recipients for the Emerging Leaders scholarship provided by the American Bankers Association (ABA) . This scholarship affords bankers the opportunity to attend the ABA's Washington Summit, which is known as "the biggest annual gathering of bank leaders in Washington to push for a bank policy framework that lets banks stay focused on serving customers, clients, and communities." The delegation of Virginia Bankers traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators Sen. Mark Warner, Sen. Tim Kaine, Rep. Don Beyer, Rep. Ben Cline, and Rep. John McGuire.
When asked about the Summit, Eboni responded, "'Enlightening' is probably the best word to describe my experience. This was one of the BEST banking events I've ever attended, and I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to participate!"
